Private View: Jonathan Anderson at Pimlico Road

Creative director Jonathan Anderson meets art historian Dr James Fox, honoring the spirit of collecting and British craft from JW Anderson’s new Pimlico Road store

Beyond his design portfolio, creative director Jonathan Anderson has built a reputation for his curatorial mind, enriching his personal collection through amassed objects and antique furniture, celebrating Britain’s heritage craftsmanship. Between his passion for the Arts and Crafts Movement via the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, and the pastoral ceramics of Nicholas Mosse – reflecting his childhood in Ireland –, Anderson now channels his love of collecting into a rearticulated vision for the JW Anderson brand, expanding into lifestyle with an edit of elevated functional objects, created with the UK’s best craftspeople.

Compiling reissued designs and referential motifs in a modern-day cabinet of curiosities that sits alongside its fashion collections, JW Anderson’s newest space stands with the antique shops, design boutiques, and homeware specialists of London’s Pimlico Road, mirroring the Belgravia street’s design heritage. Partnering with JW Anderson to capture the new Pimlico Road store, we follow Jonathan Anderson in conversation with art historian, broadcaster, and craft expert Dr James Fox, unlocking the history and craftsmanship stories behind these unique pieces – and their place within Anderson’s own memories and inspirations.
